Planner pack

Vehicle finance and ownership planner pack

A planner pack for comparing vehicle finance quotes, running costs, loan options, budget fit and fuel details before you choose what to check next.

Use this planner pack when

You are comparing a vehicle quote

Good for

PCP, HP, bank-loan and cash-price comparisons where monthly payment is only part of the real cost.

What it keeps together

Quote details, deposit, APR, final payment, mileage notes, insurance, fuel, servicing and budget checks.

Use another source if

You need regulated finance, legal, tax, insurance or safety advice. Use the printable to record what needs checking before you agree to anything.

What this gives you

One print pack for the numbers around a car, van or motorbike

A monthly payment can look simple, but vehicle decisions often include deposits, APR, fees, final payments, mileage limits, insurance, fuel, servicing, tax, parking and end-of-term choices. This planner pack keeps those pieces together so you can compare like with like.

Use it as an organiser and comparison aid. It does not replace financial, tax, legal, insurance, safety, mechanical or vehicle-buying advice.

Example: checking a car quote before calling back

Imagine someone is comparing a used car offer against their normal monthly budget before deciding what to ask the dealer.

  • Quote details: car price GBP 13,500, deposit GBP 1,500, PCP term 48 months, monthly payment GBP 238 and final payment GBP 5,900.
  • Running costs: insurance estimate GBP 62 per month, fuel estimate GBP 140 per month and servicing left as a quote to confirm.
  • Questions for the seller: mileage limit, excess mileage charge, included warranty, arrangement fee and what happens at the end of the agreement.
  • Next action: write down total amount payable, then compare one cheaper car and one shorter finance term.

Use this as an organiser, not a guarantee or recommendation. Vehicle finance, insurance, tax, safety and legal details should be checked against official documents or qualified advice.

What you will leave with

A clearer vehicle quote before you say yes

  • The cash price, deposit, term, monthly payment, fees and final payment written in one place.
  • Insurance, fuel, servicing, tax, mileage and parking notes separated from the finance quote.
  • Questions for the seller or lender, including warranty, mileage limits and end-of-term choices.
  • A next check, such as comparing one cheaper vehicle or asking for the total amount payable.

Questions to ask

Before you call back, separate the quote from the real running cost

These prompts are for organising questions, not financial, legal, tax, insurance or vehicle-buying advice.

  • What is the total amount payable, including fees, interest and any final payment?
  • What mileage limit, excess mileage charge, warranty limit or service condition applies?
  • What would the monthly cost look like after insurance, fuel, tax, servicing and parking are added?
  • What changes if the term is shorter, the deposit is different or the vehicle is cheaper?
  • Which details are written in the official quote document, and which are only verbal or estimated?

Check before you rely on it

Use the set to organise the quote, then verify the deal documents

This planner pack does not decide whether finance, insurance, tax or a vehicle is suitable for you.

  • If the monthly payment looks affordable, still check the total amount payable, fees, final payment and mileage terms in the official quote.
  • If a seller mentions warranty, service history, mileage, tax or insurance details, ask where that detail is written.
  • If one number changes the decision, run the comparison again with a cheaper vehicle, shorter term or different deposit before relying on it.
  • If the choice has financial, legal, safety, tax or insurance consequences, check official documents or qualified support before agreeing.
